Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a metronome and a rhythm trainer?

A metronome plays a steady click for you to play along with. The Rhythm Trainer also listens to your taps and scores them, showing how early or late each note landed, so you can measure and improve your timing.

How do I practice odd time signatures like 5/4 or 7/8?

Open the Time Signature Tool, pick the meter and count its beat groups out loud while the accented metronome plays — 7/8 as 3+2+2 is counted 1-2-3 1-2 1-2. When it feels steady, test yourself with the Rhythm Trainer's tap test in the same time signature.

What tempo should I practice at?

Start at a tempo where you can play every note accurately, then raise it a few BPM at a time once it feels comfortable. If you're learning a song, find its tempo with Tap Tempo BPM and set the metronome to match when you're ready.

Are these metronome and rhythm tools free?

Yes. Every tool is free to use in your browser with no signup and no download.
